Blaine Dog Board and Train

After doing a meet and greet with the owners of Country Pup Kennels we signed our puppy, Skye up for a 4-week basic obedience training course. We just completed the training course we signed up for and the entire staff, including the trainer, Sarah, could not have been more welcoming, patient and excellent with our dog. At least one, if not both, of the owners have been there every time we've been there. Their presence shows their dedication to making CPK the best facility around for boarding, training, grooming, and all the other services they offer.

This was our first time boarding our dog at an actual boarding place. I’ve heard so many horror stories about “boarding your dog at places where they abuse them” that we’ve always had close friends dog-sit our gentle dog for us. He also has some health issues (past back injury and chronic pancreatitis) which makes us nervous to leave him with others. Add in the fact that he acts as an emotional support dog for our family, and I had incredible anxiety about leaving him behind with strangers. But this last trip our friends couldn’t dog-sit, so we were left to find new arrangements. We saw that this place had good reviews and decided to check it out. The owner of Country Pup Kennel gave us a full tour and seems like someone who really cares about the animals’ comfort. (He’s even designing and building a “cooling plate” for the dogs to be able to relax on to cool off in the shade for warmer days. Stuff like that is way more intensive as far as the investment they are putting into their facility, when most places just put in a small kiddy pool. That was impressive to me.) We ended up making a reservation and dropped our sweet Toby off. We were thrilled to receive a “report card” that evening and to hear that our dog was adjusting well. That gave us a lot of peace of mind. They were responsive throughout our trip and kept us updated. But the real clincher for me was how our dog was when we picked him up. He was very excited to see us, but he happily bounced back and forth between us and the young woman who had been caring for him that day. He seemed genuinely attached to her and very happy. No separation anxiety at all and no stress at having been left. They did an excellent job caring for him, even with his health issues; and we couldn’t be happier with their services. We live in Minneapolis, but we feel the drive is worth it to make sure he is happy and well taken care of. Plus the prices were reasonable, and they include play time/outdoor time in the base price which I really liked. Highly recommend this place!! Country Pup Kennels’ new indoor training building is fantastic- spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The heated space makes training comfortable year-round, and access is super easy with plenty of space to work dogs in multiple ways. Having bathrooms onsite is a huge bonus. Overall, it’s an excellent setup for both handlers and dogs.

This morning we took our English Bulldog Ozzy to Country Pup Kennel for grooming. When we picked Ozzy up we were very impressed with the amazing job his groomer Amy did, and even more impressed with how happy Ozzy appeared. This is not common for Ozzy who has anxiety when he isn’t familiar with his surroundings. I also had the opportunity to meet the owner Sam (she), who gave me a personal tour of their NEW facility. I was very impressed with how clean the grooming area and boarding kennel was, as well as the state-of-the-art amenities as we walked through the facility! My wife and I often travel for work, so it was comforting knowing we have a better option for kenneling Ozzy when needed. This was our first visit to Country Pup Kennel, and it will definitely not be our last!!

What a wonderful boarding place for your fur babies. Country Kennel offers amazing care for your pet. The place is spotless and so many different areas for your dogs. The owners are amazing and honestly care for your fur babies. We brought our 4 month old puppy Milo there to be board for the first time. He did great! An added bonus is a groomer on staff that did a wonderful job on Milo’s first grooming! Looking forward to going back
